American folk singer and guitarist Richie Havens is the man who opened the legendary 3 Days of Peace & Music-festival Woodstock on August 15th 1969. He is best known for his rhythmic acoustic guitar style and various cover versions of famous Bob Dylan and Beatles songs as "Lady Madonna" and "Here Comes The Sun". During the 1970s Havens also started acting in different movies and tv series, eg "Married... with Children" (dt. Eine schrecklich nette Familie). And for actor Sean Bean, who is a great fan of him, Havnes even played his most famous song "Freedom" at the 2008 Canes Film Festival - the same song he did in front of 300.000 concert goers at the Woodstock Festival nearly 40 years ago.
