(The North Star) June 1941, five friends celebrate the end of the school year is just ending by setting out on a walking trip to Kiev. Their travels are brutally interrupted when they are attacked by German planes, in the first wave of the Nazi assault on the Soviet Union. The village attacked and occupied. The men flee to the hills to form a resistance army. The village comes under the control of a Nazi doctor who uses the town's children's blood for wounded German soldiers. Meanwhile, the small group tries to get firearms to the guerrillas in the hills. The Korean War (25 June 1950 -- armistice signed 27 July 1953) was a military conflict between South Korea, supported by the United Nations, and North Korea, supported by the People's Republic of China (PRC), with military material aid from the Soviet Union. The war was a result of the physical division of Korea by an agreement of the victorious Allies at the conclusion of the Pacific War at the end of World War II. The Korean peninsula was ruled by Japan from 1910 until the end of World War II. Following the surrender of Japan in 1945, American administrators divided the peninsula along the 38th Parallel, with United States troops occupying the southern part and Soviet troops occupying the northern part. The failure to hold free elections throughout the Korean Peninsula in 1948 deepened the division between the two sides, and the North established a Communist government. The 38th Parallel increasingly became a political border between the two Koreas. Although reunification negotiations continued in the months preceding the war, tension intensified. Cross-border skirmishes and raids at the 38th Parallel persisted. The situation escalated into open warfare when North Korean forces invaded South Korea on 25 June 1950. It was the first significant armed conflict of the Cold War. The United Nations, particularly the United States, came to the aid of South Korea in repelling the invasion. This may be the most important film in Middle East politics in the history of the region. Most of the rhetoric constructed against Israel speaking about "aggression" is made laughable the moment you see what they face in May and early June of 1967. This film spends enough time on the critical weeks before the war, from the time the Soviet Union (admitting in the film) tried to exploit the strife as an opportunity to showcase Soviet weapons and political support. Once the Soviets started the ball rolling, the Arab leaders whipped the citizens in to blood-lust frenzy for war, while Israel literally tried everything to avoid war. Once the first air strike delivered Israel from this threat, never again could such a threat be taken as seriously, and if you want to understand the Middle East today, you either need to get a stack of books (I will eventually publish that list too) or you can start by carefully viewing this film. A film this important is clearly in the public interest to view and debate, and therefore Fair Use is cited consistent with the Copyright laws of the United States. An introduction to the RPK in Call of Duty: Black Ops multiplayer. The RPK (Ruchnoy Pulemyot Kalashnikova, Russian: Ручной пулемёт Калашникова or "hand-held machine gun of Kalashnikov") is a 7.62x39mm light machine gun of Soviet design, developed by Mikhail Kalashnikov in the late 1950s, parallel with the AKM assault rifle. It was created as part of a program designed to standardize the small arms inventory of the Red Army, where it replaced the 7.62x39mm RPD light machine gun. The RPK continues to be used by the armed forces of countries of the former Soviet Union and certain African and Asian nations. The RPK was also manufactured in Bulgaria and Romania.
