Ku's fellow-swordsmen try unsuccessfully to steal his secret. Many years have passed; Lung Chien-fei (Derek Yee) carries ugly scars on his face from protecting his master Liu Hua-hsin (Ching Miao). He loves Liu's daughter Liu Ming-ying (Yu An-an), so when her father betroths her to the sly Ping Hsin (Ku Kwun-chung) he attacks Ping, and is hurled over a precipice. A giant bird rescues Lung and brings him to Ku, who is blind, a bit crazy and lives in a cave. Ku adopts him as his pupil and teaches Lung the Buddha's Palm technique.
