Many people don't realize that it's already illegal to post copyrighted content online (movies, tv shows, music, and video game footage). If you look on the back of any video game you own you will see a phrase saying something like "Unauthorized copying, reverse engineering, transmission, public performance, rental, pay for play, or circumvention of copy protection is strictly prohibited." People have already been striked on YouTube for posting gaming footage even with commentaries before this bill was ever proposed. The perfect example would have to be last year when Red Dead Redemption came out. Rockstar Games flagged many videos that were uploaded of that game without their permission. This is also why big YouTubers like Freddiew can't use video game footage in their videos. In fact, I remember Freddiew talking about how it took him a long time to get a YouTube partnership because of a guitar hero video he had when he 1st started. YouTube was worried that his video might get a strike and it delayed his partnership offering. He would need to get a separate YouTube gaming kind of partnership if he wanted to use gaming footage in videos. I don't think we need to panic because most game developers do not flag videos on YouTube.
