It's official! Both Demi Lovato and Britney Spears are joining season 2 of The X-Factor! The ladies were on hand in New York City for the Fox Upfronts today when the big news was announced. Fox President Kevin Reilly took the stage to announce the judges... where Simon Cowell said QUOTE "Well, we delivered," Cowell said. "This has taken a year, and I am thrilled to be able to confirm the return of LA Reid, and the addition of Demi Lovato and the superstar Britney Spears." Demi Lovato also expressed her excitement over the new gig, saying "I'm totally stoked to be here, because of not only the opportunity to be a judge here, but the presence of you guys. It's just an honor to be standing next to you. I'm excited to represent my generation, and I'm ready to find the winner." Immediately following the big announcement, both Britney and Demi tweeted out photos of the foursome with the hashtag #SimonBritneyDemiLa. Now, during the announcement.... Both Fox President Kevin Reilly and Simon Cowell both majorly dissed The Voice... Reilly said the viewership was down by show's end... and Cowell said QUOTE ". "The Voice is going up against us; I wish them luck, but second's not great." According to confirmed reports from E News, pop-megastar Britney Spears and break-out music star Demi Lovato are apparently confirmed to sign on Simon Cowell's singing competition show. According to E, both singers have offers in place and have agreed to the terms, HOWEVER I should point out that to our knowledge, neither of the stars have actually signed on the dotted line yet. That said, this confirmation is still based somewhat on speculation. If Demi and Britney do choose to sit in on the X-Factor judging panel, they will fill spaces left empty by Paula Abdul and Nicole Sherzinger. Outside media sources maintain that other singers, including Miley Cyrus and Gwen Stefani, are still in consideration for the judging gigs, as well. So what do you all think of the latest in X-Factor news? IF Britney Spears does take the gig -- she'll receive a reportedly 15-million dollar paycheck. No word on what Demi would earn as of yet.
