Used to skip over this song on the album until I heard this version. I don't know why it hit so hard this time around. Songs are so contextual when you hear them. @theboss: don't like how people run down KT so you run down Ray? Weird... But hey, at least you know him well enough to judge how he'll be in the future. As a rule I never comment back on anyones opinions about music, it's such a personal thing. However, to run down KT Tunstall the way some have has infuriated me. I've never heard so much horse shit. La Montagne is a fraud who will sit and ponder a question for 2 or 3 minutes before answering, bull shit !! He's a one trick pony who 's songs are all the same and he comes across as this reluctant star, more bullshit, he'll have an ego as big as the rest. Tunstall is twice the talent he is.

I agree that KT is out of her depth, but I think David Gray can hold his own even against Ray - watch the whole thing, you'll see the two of them tend to look at each other with admiration (over KT's head, hehe) while the other one is singing. This is two of the best, and a girl who is talented but just a bit out of her depth. It would take a ballsier lady, a more creative one, maybe a Tori Amos, or an Amy Ray, to hold her own here. Not to knock KT, it's possible she just hasn't hit her stride.
