All I know is that ...

All I know is that Roland Grapow actually wanted Kiske in Masterplan enough for him to be the main singer until Kiske didn't want to perform live leading to them picking Jorn Lande (amazing vocalist) instead. I don't think that Kiske really did this as a cash grab considering that he downed the opportunity to join Gamma Ray offered by Kai Hansen which would have gave him far more money.

I think that Kiske only did this for money, while the other guys were excited as hell. And yes, the album sounds more Hard Rock than Heavy Metal. I noticed in Wikipedia that the Helloween song "Mr. Ego (Take Me Down)" was dedicated to Michael Kiske. Does anyone know the story behind that one? Even though the lyrics say a lot already.
